To prove his skill set could translate to the highest level of college football, Meyers transferred to Louisiana Tech. Facing tougher, more athletic secondaries, he demonstrated that his route running and football IQ were highly adaptable. He proved to be a reliable target in pressure situations, adjusting to different offensive schemes and demonstrating the versatility that professional coaches covet. Since completing his collegiate career, Meyers has stayed in peak physical condition, awaiting the right opportunity to showcase his talents on a professional stage.
Evaluating Meyers' Value and Scouting Report for Pro Front Offices
For franchises analyzing the current free-agent pool in late August 2026, Meyers offers a low-risk, high-reward option. Teams looking to sign him will gain an athlete who understands how to find soft spots in zone coverage and win one-on-one matchups on the perimeter.
- Suddenness in and out of breaks: Meyers excels at maintaining his speed through his cuts, creating immediate separation.
- Catch radius and adjustment: Despite not being the tallest receiver on the market, his vertical leap and body control allow him to make contested catches.
- Special teams utility: To survive on a professional roster, depth receivers must contribute on coverage units. Meyers’ willingness to block and play on special teams increases his overall value.
With training camp injuries piling up across various professional leagues, front offices are prioritizing players who can learn a playbook quickly. Meyers’ experience in multiple college systems makes him an ideal plug-and-play candidate for teams needing immediate depth.

Next Steps in the 2026 Professional Football Cycle
The timing of Meyers’ free agency coincides with crucial roster decisions. Over the next week, NFL franchises must trim their active rosters to 53 players, leaving dozens of talented athletes looking for new homes. This transition period often triggers a domino effect, opening up opportunities on practice squads.
If an immediate NFL opportunity does not materialize, Meyers remains a prime candidate for the UFL (United Football League) or the CFL (Canadian Football League). Both leagues offer excellent platforms for dynamic receivers to put high-quality film on redirecting their careers back to the NFL. For Meyers, the goal remains simple: secure a workout, earn a roster spot, and let his play on the field do the talking.
