Champion Francesco Zet Horse Dominates High-Stakes Summer Circuit: Track Records And Autumn Campaign Confirmed

Swedish harness racing sensation Francesco Zet continues his commanding reign over European trotting as the 2026 summer racing season reaches its peak. Under the expert guidance of trainer Daniel Redén and regular driver Örjan Kihlström, the superstar stallion has delivered another series of scintillating performances across Nordic tracks, reinforcing his standing as one of the fastest and most tactically versatile horses in modern harness racing history.

From Derby Record-Breaker to Nordic Harness Dominance

Bred and owned by the powerhouse Stall Zet, the Francesco Zet horse etched his name into harness racing lore early in his career by sweeping Sweden’s most coveted age-group tests. In his four-year-old campaign, he achieved an extraordinary grand slam by winning the Konung Gustaf V:s Pokal, SprinterMästaren, Svenskt Travderby, and the Breeders' Crown—a legendary feat that cemented his status as a generational talent.

Sired by American stallion Father Patrick, Francesco Zet combines relentless acceleration with extraordinary tactical stamina. Trainer Daniel Redén has managed the stallion's career with extreme patience, prioritizing longevity and top-level peak performance over high race frequency. That careful management continues to pay dividends in 2026, where the horse routinely defeats elite international fields with effortless gear shifts in the final quarter.

• Unmatched Versatility: Capable of winning both sprint distances (1,609m) and classic endurance trips (2,640m).
• Tactical Execution: Known for a lethal turn of foot, allowing driver Örjan Kihlström to control races from the front or launch decisive late charges.
• Stallion Balance: Successfully balances top-tier Grand Prix competition alongside high-demand breeding duties.

Autumn 2026 Grand Prix Outlook and Breeding Legacy

As the 2026 European harness calendar transitions toward autumn, Daniel Redén’s primary focus remains targeting high-stakes Group 1 events across Northern Europe. Key upcoming target fixtures on the horizon include major clashes during the European Trotting Union (UET) Elite Circuit schedule, where Francesco Zet will once again face premier international trotters from France, Italy, and North America.

Beyond his immediate racing goals, Francesco Zet's dual role as a sire continues to raise his commercial profile. His early breeding crops have garnered tremendous interest from international buyers, ensuring that his pedigree will leave a lasting impact on harness racing for decades to come. With optimal health and elite speed intact, the standardbred champion remains the benchmark against which all European trotters are measured.
